Shark Spotted Off The Coast of Martha’s Vineyard

That’s right, a shark was spotted off the coatst of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. If you’re in California, you’re saying, “Big deal!” about that, but here in the northeast, seeing a shark, especially at Martha’s Vineyard, really freaks people out. Does anyone remember the movie Jaws? Where do you think that movie was filmed? The scenes of Amity Island were filmed in Martha’s Vineyard.

Two beaches were closed due to the unconfirmed reports of a large shark sighting, which is suprisingly similar to the movie where they had to close the beach during the fourth of july holiday at Amity Island. The sighting missed the holiday weekend, but how bizarre is that? I can hear Roy Scheider now, “Get out of the water!”

If you are planning in trip to Martha’s Vineyard this weekend, be sure to bring your shark repellant and your sunscreen.
